Mati Gibbs is an independent art advisor and creative professional based in New York with over ten years of global experience in the fine art industry, specializing in the contemporary art market.

During her decade of experience, Gibbs has facilitated numerous acquisitions by prominent private collectors and renowned institutions, both in the United States and abroad. She works personally and intentionally with collectors, patrons, and professionals of all levels and backgrounds to create a client-forward approach, ensuring that each collection reflects an original and unique identity. Gibbs combines her deep art historical knowledge with her nuanced understanding of current contemporary practices, allowing for the development of distinctive collections which have the capacity to grow and evolve organically and authentically.

Well-regarded across the art industry, Gibbs has cultivated strong relationships with gallerists, museums, patrons, and other advisors, providing exceptional access to best-quality works from emerging, mid-career, and blue-chip artists. Gibbs holds a Master’s Degree in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York, with a focus in Contemporary Art. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Art History from the College of Charleston Honors College, where she pursued specialized studies across antiquities and historical painting, into contemporary art of the 20th and 21st centuries.
